Skill creator

A skill is a folder with one file, SKILL.md, that teaches an AI agent a job it can repeat: what the job is, when to use it and the steps to follow. Fill in the form and copy or download the file. Everything runs in this page. Nothing you type is sent to Uteke.

Build your skill

Lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, up to 64 characters. Say what it does, for example processing-pdfs or weekly-report, not helper or tools. Spaces and capitals are fixed when you leave the field.

Write it in the third person: what the skill does, then when to use it, for example "Writes the weekly report from notes. Use when the user asks for a status update." The agent picks a skill from this text alone, so put the key use case in the first 200 characters. 0/1024

One situation per line.

One step per line, in order. Numbers are added for you. Give one clear way to do each step rather than several options.

One concrete input and the output you expect. Examples show the style and level of detail better than a description.

Anything the agent should keep in mind: tone, limits, things to avoid.

Memory

Adds a section that tells the agent to look up what it already knows before it starts and to save what is worth keeping when it finishes, with the Uteke tools uteke_recall and uteke_remember, written as server:tool so they resolve when several servers are connected. It only works when the agent is connected to Uteke; otherwise the section is skipped.

Your SKILL.md appears here once the name, description and at least one step are filled in.

Where to put it

  • Claude Code: save it as ~/.claude/skills/your-skill/SKILL.md for every project, or .claude/skills/your-skill/SKILL.md inside one project. No upload is needed.
  • Claude on the web (claude.ai): zip the skill folder itself, so the zip contains your-skill/SKILL.md and not loose files, then add it under Customize, Skills. Skills need code execution to be enabled in your settings.
  • Claude API: upload it through the Skills API. Skills added in one place are not shared with the others, so add it in each place you use it.

Name the folder after the skill. Only use skills from sources you trust: a skill can direct the agent to run tools and code, so read a skill before you install one.

Keep a skill small and specific: one skill, one job, and a description that says when to reach for it. To give any agent the same long-term memory, connect it to Uteke.
