Uteke for pi

Mario Zechner (Earendil) · Coding agent · MCP + sign-in or API key · Beta

A minimal coding agent for the terminal, with MCP built in.

Beta: written from pi's own documentation and not tested by us yet. If a step does not match what you see, follow pi's docs and tell us at [email protected].

Set it up

  1. Add Uteke with sign-in through client metadata (CIMD):
    ~/.pi/agent/mcp.json (or .pi/mcp.json)
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "uteke": {
          "url": "https://uteke.app/mcp",
          "oauth": { "clientRegistration": "cimd" }
        }
      }
    }

  2. Sign in; a browser opens the CodeCora ID sign-in:
    Terminal
    pi mcp login uteke

  3. Or use an API key instead of signing in:
    Terminal
    export UTEKE_KEY=utk_live_YOUR_KEY
    pi mcp add uteke --url https://uteke.app/mcp --bearer-token-env-var UTEKE_KEY

API keys are made at API keys in the portal; choose read-only if the agent only needs to recall. A key works only for your workspace.

Do not set clientName in the oauth block: it switches pi to dynamic registration, which Uteke's sign-in does not offer.

Try it

Ask pi:

  • Remember that we release from main only, never from develop.
  • What did we decide about pricing last week?
  • Save this summary to the team room.

Then ask the same thing from another agent you connected: they share one memory.

Disconnect

Open Agents in the portal and choose Disconnect. It works for agents that signed in and for API keys; access is checked again within about 30 seconds. You can also remove Uteke in pi's own settings.
