Uteke for Codex CLI

OpenAI · Coding agent · MCP + sign-in or API key · Beta

The OpenAI coding agent in your terminal.

Beta: written from Codex CLI's own documentation and not tested by us yet. If a step does not match what you see, follow Codex CLI's docs and tell us at [email protected].

Set it up

  1. Add Uteke to your Codex config:
    ~/.codex/config.toml
    [mcp_servers.uteke]
    url = "https://uteke.app/mcp"

  2. Sign in; a browser opens the CodeCora ID sign-in:
    Terminal
    codex mcp login uteke

  3. Or use an API key instead of signing in: add this line under [mcp_servers.uteke] and set UTEKE_API_KEY in your shell.
    ~/.codex/config.toml
    bearer_token_env_var = "UTEKE_API_KEY"

API keys are made at API keys in the portal; choose read-only if the agent only needs to recall. A key works only for your workspace.

Try it

Ask Codex CLI:

  • Remember that we release from main only, never from develop.
  • What did we decide about pricing last week?
  • Save this summary to the team room.

Then ask the same thing from another agent you connected: they share one memory.

Disconnect

Open Agents in the portal and choose Disconnect. It works for agents that signed in and for API keys; access is checked again within about 30 seconds. You can also remove Uteke in Codex CLI's own settings.
